“Red and black currants, smoke, spiced plum and black cherry. Swirling brings up red fruits and sandalwood. Fresh, but ripe, with bright fruit and good tension. Long and smooth tannins with a finish of plum, blackberry and vanilla bean spice."-Aryn Morell, winemaker

Matthews Reserve Claret lends itself to delicious roasted or grilled meats. The cedar aromatics pair well with smoked meats. This wine has fine tannins and nice acidity, which means that it will also pair well with a variety of cheese. One imagines a nicely charred fatty prime rib, topped with blue cheese!
